1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how gFrudio ("we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use the Accountable application and this website. It should be read together with the Terms of Use.

2. Information handled by Accountable

Budgeting information

Accountable processes information that you choose to enter, such as budget names, member names, income and expense amounts, envelopes, payment schedules, savings information, notes and related planning details. This information may reveal sensitive details about your finances, so you should only enter information you are comfortable storing on your device and in iCloud.

iCloud information

Accountable uses Apple’s CloudKit service to sync supported data through the private database associated with your Apple Account. Apple processes this information to provide iCloud and CloudKit under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not operate a separate account system or server that receives your budgeting records.

Subscriptions and purchases

If you subscribe to Accountable Plus, Apple processes the purchase through the App Store. Accountable receives information needed to determine whether a subscription is active, such as product and entitlement status. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

Files you import or export

Accountable can import or export budget files at your direction. Files are handled using locations and services you select through the operating system. You are responsible for protecting exported files and choosing where they are shared or stored.

3. How information is used

Information is processed only as needed to:

• provide budgeting, forecasting, reporting, importing and exporting features;
• save and synchronise supported information across your devices through iCloud;
• confirm and restore Accountable Plus subscription access;
• respond to support requests you send to us;
• maintain security, prevent misuse and comply with applicable law.

4. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers only where needed to provide the app or website:

• Apple: iCloud and CloudKit storage and synchronisation, App Store purchases, subscription management and platform services.
• Cloudflare: delivery and security of this website. Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP addresses and request details for those purposes.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety and security.

5. Analytics, advertising and tracking

Accountable does not contain third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not use your information for cross-app tracking. This website does not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies. Infrastructure providers may process limited technical data to deliver and secure their services.

6. Storage, retention and deletion

Budgeting information remains on your device and in iCloud until you delete it, remove it through Apple’s iCloud storage controls, or Apple removes it in accordance with its terms. Deleting the app from one device may not delete information already stored in iCloud or on another device.

You can delete individual records or budgets within Accountable. You can also manage Accountable’s iCloud data through your device’s Apple Account and iCloud settings. Because Accountable does not create a separate gFrudio account, there is no separate Accountable account to close.

Support emails are retained only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain a record of the request, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.

7. Security

Accountable relies on Apple platform security and iCloud protections, and we design the app to minimise collection outside those systems. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your devices, Apple Account and any exported budget files with appropriate safeguards.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict certain personal information, or object to particular processing. Most budgeting information can be reviewed and changed directly in Accountable. Apple provides controls for information held in iCloud and the App Store.

For a privacy request relating to information held directly by gFrudio, email us using the contact details below. We may need to verify your request. We cannot retrieve budgeting content from your private iCloud database on your behalf through the app.

9. Children

Accountable is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to gFrudio, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. International processing

Apple, Cloudflare and email providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their handling of information is governed by their privacy documentation and applicable safeguards.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Accountable or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top will identify the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or its App Store listing where appropriate.
